Media Funding FAQs
Our approval process takes about 3 weeks from the time we receive a completed new client checklist to the time we make our first media advance.
Things that lengthen that time frame normally relate to additional information needed regarding the company, campaign, or principals. In instances where there is a secured lender(s) in the business, this does not disqualify a company from getting approved for media funding, but does require an additional agreement between Charis and the secured lender, which inevitably extends the approval process.
There is no fixed term for our agreement. Our media funding agreement can be terminated by the client after providing 30 days notice. Obviously, all invoices need to be paid prior to the revenue controls and UCC-1 filings being released.
No doubt about it, media funding through Charis Media Capital would be an expensive long-term solution if you choose (incorrectly) to calculate our services as though it was a loan. However, this is not a loan. We are providing a specialized consulting service that monitors your campaign’s effectiveness and optimizes its efficiency while fueling your company’s growth with capital we are putting at risk. Banks and private investors simply do not understand the business like we do and that is why they do not extend capital to your business without requiring a disproportionate amount of ownership in your company.
As for funding minimums, there are none. Maximums are based on the current strength of the marketing campaign plus past spending history, available inventory, and order fulfillment/customer service capacity.
Media funding is primarily secured by the sales revenue of the marketing project. Because of the way we condition our funding through campaign performance, there is not a normal occurrence where there is not sufficient revenue to pay the media funding invoices when they are due. In addition to the assignment of the revenues, we are granted a UCC-1 secured lien on all the company’s assets in the event of a default of our funding agreement. In the event of fraud, we are also given a guarantee by the signatory of the contract. Fraud would include diverting sales revenue from credit card processing, misrepresenting performance reports, and similar types of bad behavior expressly prohibited in our agreement.
Yes – our media funding fees are discounted based on our history with the campaign primarily expressed through aggregate spending. Most campaigns that fund in excess of $5.0 million with us receive a 20% discount on our funding fees as long as repayment history has been good.

In short, have you ever heard of a devil investor? Thought not. There is no guarantee that your “angel” will take any less equity than any other opportunistic capital source. However, Charis can guarantee your funding without giving up any of your equity - a fancy word for that type of funding is non-dilutive, but you can just call it “Angelic.” Specifically, however, Charis offers media funding with your company --Until you no longer need us. Yes, that’s right, we fund ourselves out of a job with every successful customer. Why do we do that, you may wonder? Because we’ve been there. Check out our About Us story, and remember, you may not need us now, but if you’re smart, you’ll give us a call in the future.
Charis does not take an equity position in your company. We offer customized loans on mutually-agreed terms. We consider several collateral options with direct response businesses, such as a large credit card reserve held by your merchant processor, an active customer database for subscription-based, and a high-cost product paid in installments. We also added a new option for websites monetized using Google Ad sources. Call and speak with our advisors to see if your business qualifies for marketing campaign-based media funding with Charis.
